Struggling to rev past5k

Hi just bought a 99 srad 600 project. Starts on choke ok from cold and ticks over off chock when warmed up. It really struggles to rev past 5k. All vacuum pipes connected, new plugs, fuel tank filter clean with new fuel in tank. Swapped cdi and coil sticks. Can anybody help plz?? PS its got a k+n filter and art can with standard headers. Check your ignition coils for splits... It could be sparking against the engine casing causing a misfire. Also try running some Redex through it. Controversial but if any fuel has gotten gummed up in the lines it'll clear it out. Also check your fuel tank breather hose is clear.
