Rough running when cold

My 97 SRAD runs really rough when cold. Almost sounds like a twin. Once warm it is much smoother and happy to tick over.

Can anybody give me any pointers on what to look for to find the problem?

Does the bike have aftermarket airfilters or exhausts? And how are the spark plugs.
