Andrea Iannone finished the first official MotoGP test of the year in second place on the combined time sheets, just eight hundredths of a second off top spot onboard his Suzuki GSX-RR machine.
The team used the three days to work on finding a good setting for Iannone, to get him comfortable onboard the bike, as well as testing the 2016 bike back-to-back with new components for the 2017 season.
Iannone’s fastest lap on the second day of testing was enough to top the time sheets on the day, and also gave him the second fastest time of the test.
Meanwhile, MotoGP rookie Alex Rins was getting back on a bike for the first time after fracturing a vertebrae at the test in Valencia in November, and continued his work with the team to get used to the more demanding nature of a MotoGP bike*versus a Moto2 machine.
The young Spaniard still impressed by setting the 12th fastest time, a little over half a second off*the time set by his teammate.
