got myself an 600srad runnin a bit rich

Hi all just got myself a 98 srad which is running
A lil rich and rides abit boggy but can power throu it I'm going to take carbs off and clean and reset floats
To see if this cures the problem
It has a fuel smell coming from the can that has no baffle in
It has a slip on sp racing can

Would putting the baffle back in help in anyway?

Also could the rectifier cause this problem?

Update

I've had carbs off and cleaned new carb kit checked balance and now it idles a lot better
just need to take it out for a run but safety first and on to next job fork seals.
