Hi. I've just joined your group. I've had my 1000k3 for four years now and love it. I look to you for answers and thought it was time to join. I'm considering a gearbox rebuild but a bit nervous. I would say I'm almost average with spanners but it's not my favourite pastime.
The bike whines under load in the first three gears. It drives fine, doesn't jump out of gear or anything. It's a bit clunky going into 1st, but I think they all do that.
It's 17 years old and difficult to justify the sort of money to get it done. So it's do it myself, live with it or flog it as spares or repairs.
