I bought my 1997 600 SRAD in September? last year, great bike, no problems. I moved house in November, and on tht night did a quick trip too and from work to time it for the following morning. On the way back it broke down, and was like the kill switch was on. Had my dad tow me home an it started fine again at home. I had the problem of it starting afew times which I (thought I) figured out to be the screw holding the clutch lever on and the switch on the clutch that stops it turning on. This fixed it for a while until I took it off the road for winter. It started being temperamental when turning on the ignition, sometimes you would hear the computer? Buzz for afew seconds as normal, other times it was like the killswitch was on. Now when I turn the ignition on its like the killswitch is permanently on. I've opened up that switch to clean it an spray WD-40 an its in good condition inside. Anyone have a clue?? This is the most modern bike I've owned. (Until now a CG 125 and a 1980 Suzuki 250 so not used to all these electronics).
I did manage to take it out twice this year, the first time broke down 2 minutes from home, I pushed it half way back and it started again. The second time it seemed to have over heated and again I couldn't restart it for a while, but I can't start it up anymore to check that that problem has been rectified.
I think I may need a new battery for it, but any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated!
