Water in airbox

Doing some maintenance on my secondhand 750 and noticed a puddle of water/oil/goo in the back section of the airbox (behind the filter and intakes)
There was a black mesh in the small indent in the back of the airbox and that was also soaked in this stuff. What is it and should i be worried it can get that close to the intakes?

Looks like moisture from the breather. When the bike cools down moisture is drawn in with the air. When you fire it up the moisture escapes as steam and then cools down and turns back into water. This is nothing to worry about.

Crankcases breather spits oil in there. Nothing serious or dangerous.
