Hi All
At last I have returned to my roots.
My first bike, back in 1980, was a GT125 (WTF644T). I still remember the smell of the two stroke.
Then came a DR125, better for my overweight 6’4” frame but sluggish. Bought from new at Coles Suzuki High Wycombe.
After that an FJ550 in Black, lovely. It was at that point I really saw my motorcycling future and decided that I’d better pass my test!
A number of bikes later including a GPZ750 I got married and biking stopped for about 30 years.
About 5 years ago my circumstances changed and my brother and I returned to biking with a vengeance. He bought a Hayabusa and a TL1000R. I bought a Blackbird and an RSVR.
The following year we took the ‘busa and ‘bird to Reims, not too long and it’s got the abandoned Grand Prix road circuit ‘Ciucuit de Reims-Gueux’. The trip was fantastic and the French roads are amazing but heading back my phone satnav failed us and we ended up in Belgium!?!. By the time we arrived at Calais my legs were killing me and i realised i needed a bike with more legroom. My brother realised he needed a bike with more luggage.
I sold my bikes and bought a BMW R1200RT and my brother sold his and bought a Triumph Tiger 1050 and an 2001 R1, he finds anything but a sports bike a bit boring.
Not to be out done, and after a couple of years saving I have now returned to the fold with another Suzuki. A 2002 GSXR1000 K2, Blue/White/Black/Silver with white wheels. 20k miles and untouched.
Over the next year or so I plan to clean and service every system, one at a time, And hopefully find a sprayer to return the fairing back to its original glory, stone chips etc. But there’s no rush as this lady is for riding!
