Clutch freeplay problem

2nd post and it's asking for advice, typical eh :)

Having sorted all the other problems Ive found with the bike, all easy fixes thankfully, I have a problem with the clutch. After 10 miles use or so the clutch biting point slowly comes back close to the bar. It stays there until the bike is left to cool down at which point the lever adjustment is back to normal, then does it again when used. Enough freeplay remains for the clutch to be useable. Ive seen this with hydraulic clutches and once with a cable, the cable outer would soften when heat soak from engine warmed it up.
Anyhow, Ive replaced the cable with a new Suzuki item, properly adjusted the release mech and 2 cable adjusters and cleaned/greased the worm drive in the release mechanism. No change.

Im now thinking clutch plates or oil related. Its not the rev-related issue Ive read about as its strictly doing it depending on temperature.
Any ideas before I rip into the clutch? Cheers

In case anyone else ever has this problem, it was an over-worn clutch worm drive release mechanism. £40 ish for a new part fixed it.
